UNIVERSITY PARK, PA (January 22, 2009) – New Kids On The Block - one of the pioneer Pop groups from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s - are all grown up and back on the road, and they are bringing their old school sound to the Bryce Jordan Center on Tuesday, March 24 with special guests JabbaWockeeZ.
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 30 at 10:00 a.m. and cost just $45. A limited number of VIP Gold Circle seats will also be made available, as well as a limited number of tickets priced at just $25 for Penn State University Park students.
It’s been nearly 25 years since brothers Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood stormed onto the music scene and seemingly became the joy of every teenage girl across the globe.
The pop quintet released five studio albums over the span of a decade, won two American Music Awards and owned the radio airwaves with hits like “Hangin’ Tough,” “You Got It (The Right Stuff),” “Cover Girl,” “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time)” and many others.
The New Kids fell silent after disbanding in 1994 and watched as countless Pop bands began marching down the road that they helped pave. But in April of 2008 they finally got the itch and decided to once again hit the studio and the road.
The group released its sixth studio project entitled “The Block” this past September and embarked on a much-anticipated reunion tour. Following a string of extremely successful dates in the latter half of 2008, the five grown men from Boston, Massachusetts are now embarking on a 2009 tour that passes through Penn State on March 24.
Joining New Kids on the tour will be JabbaWockeeZ, a diverse male dance crew that gained fame by appearing on NBC’s America's Got Talent before winning the MTV hip hop dance reality series America's Best Dance Crew.
