By the time Leon Russell became known to audiences in the late 60s as the phenomenal piano man on Joe Cocker's "Mad Dogs and Englishmen" tour, he was already revered within the music industry as the ultimate rock and roll session man. To this day, there is simply no performer who can replicate his signature gravelly voice and rolling piano style. It is that combination and his astounding versatility that have given him a well-deserved long and still going strong career in rock and roll.
